Bar Ends for Stunt Scooters – Installation & Replacement 0

What Are Bar Ends for Stunt Scooters?

Wondering about those small but important pieces at the ends of your scooter’s handlebar? They’re called bar ends. These plugs play a key role in stability and safety while you ride.

Functions of Barends on a Stunt Scooter

  1. Grip retention: Bar ends keep your scooter grips firmly in place for a secure hold during riding and tricks.
  2. Hand protection: They shield your palms from cuts and scrapes, especially if the handlebar edges are sharp.
  3. Handlebar protection: Bar ends guard the ends of the handlebar from dents and damage after crashes or drops.
  4. Protecting other surfaces: They prevent your scooter from scratching walls or floors when you lean it against something.

Most bar ends come in a universal size that fits standard scooter handlebars. Choose from aluminum, plastic, or rubber-resin depending on your preferences. They’re available in many colours and from popular brands.

Popular Choices

Riders often choose ODI bar ends or Core bar ends. Aluminum tips are stronger but usually cost more.

How to Replace Bar Ends on a Stunt Scooter

  1. Prepare your tools: You may need a drill, flat screwdriver, pliers, a hex key or a rubber mallet.
  2. Remove the old bar ends: Unscrew aluminum ones with a hex key. For plastic ends, pry them out with a screwdriver. If they’re stuck, carefully drill or pull them out with pliers.
  3. Install the new bar ends: Push the new plugs into the handlebar and secure them. Use a hex key for aluminum ends or gently tap plastic ends with a rubber mallet. Tighten with care to avoid damage.

How Often Should You Replace Bar Ends?

Swap out bar ends whenever they’re cracked or worn to keep your scooter protected and safe to ride.
