NS Bikes Synonym RC1 29" is for you if you want to climb fast, accelerate hard and still have more control on technical descents than on a classic XC bike. It is a carbon full-suspension MTB with 100 mm of travel front and rear, but its geometry is much more confident than what you usually get from traditional race machines.

The RC1 is the most race-focused version of the Synonym. FOX Factory suspension, SRAM X01 Eagle drivetrain, a carbon handlebar and the lightweight FOX Transfer SL Factory dropper post make this bike fast, precise where it matters and ready for hard riding on MTB marathons, quick XC laps and technical singletrack.

Downcountry with a race-focused feel

The Synonym RC1 is not a nervous XC full-suspension bike that only feels good on smooth courses. The long reach and 67° head angle give the bike more composure when the trail gets steep, fast or rocky. This makes it easier to hold your line on descents without fighting the front end of the bike.

On climbs, the bike still keeps its sporty efficiency. The 77° effective seat angle puts you further over the bottom bracket, helping you hold your rhythm and push power through the pedals on steep sections. The remote suspension lockout lets you firm up the suspension quickly before a sprint, a long climb or a fast gravel section.

These size ranges are a guide. With a modern MTB, it is worth looking not only at rider height, but also at leg length, body proportions and your preferred position on the bike. A smaller size gives a more compact, sporty position, while a larger size adds more stability at speed.

Geometry built for speed and control

A 475 mm reach in size M and 500 mm in size L show that NS Bikes has gone for modern handling. The longer front end gives you more room on the bike and helps you stay calmer at higher speeds. On steep descents, you will feel more stability than on a classic XC bike.

The 438 mm chainstay keeps a good balance between stability and a dynamic response when pedalling. The bike does not feel overly nervous on descents, but it still comes out of corners quickly and responds well when you want to accelerate harder on flat sections or climbs.
