Bearings for Stunt Scooters

Quality scooter bearings mean faster, smoother rides and easier tricks. They let your handlebar and wheels spin freely, giving you more speed and better control when jumping or landing.

Check and replace your bearings regularly to keep maximum smoothness and stay safe during both tricks and everyday riding.

FAQ – Scooter Bearings for Stunt Scooters

How do I clean and lubricate scooter bearings?

Remove the bearings from the wheels, take off the seals and rinse in isopropyl alcohol or a dedicated bearing cleaner. Dry completely, apply a thin layer of light oil or bearing lube, then reinstall the seals and bearings.

When should I replace my scooter bearings?

If the wheels spin slowly, feel rough or there is side-to-side play, the bearings are worn. If cleaning and lubrication do not help, it is time for new bearings.

Do all bearings fit stunt scooter wheels?

Most pro scooter wheels use the 608 standard (8×22×7 mm). Always check the wheel specs to confirm, but this size fits almost all 100–120 mm stunt scooter wheels with an 8 mm axle.

Which lube is better, oil or grease?

Oil spins faster and gives less friction, great for park riders, but needs more frequent maintenance. Grease protects better from water and dust, making it ideal for street riding.

Are waterproof scooter bearings really waterproof?

Sealed bearings resist moisture better but are not 100 % waterproof. After riding in the rain, always clean and re-lube to prevent rust.

How can I extend the life of my bearings?

Clean and lubricate regularly, avoid sand and water, and never hammer bearings directly when installing. Correct spacers between bearings also help prevent premature wear.

Is ABEC-9 better than ABEC-7 for scooters?

Speed difference is minimal. Well-maintained ABEC-7 bearings spin as smoothly as new ABEC-9. Regular cleaning and lube matter more than the ABEC number.

Why do my bearings make noise or feel loose?

Usually it is dirt or wear. A full clean—removing bearings, soaking in isopropyl alcohol, re-lubing—often fixes it. If noise remains, replace the bearings.

Can I mix different bearing brands in one wheel?

Not recommended. Each wheel needs a matching pair of identical bearings for smooth spin and even wear.

How do I check bearing wear without removing them?

Spin the wheel while the scooter is lifted. If it stops quickly, grinds or has side play, the bearings are dirty or worn and need service or replacement.
