Dirt jump bikes for pump tracks and jumps
Shop dirt jump bikes at RMDBike for pump-track sessions and jumps. Compare frame length, components and the manufacturer’s intended use before choosing. Two bikes with the same wheel diameter can still give you quite different amounts of room.

Choose the frame length, not a universal size
Dirt jump sizing differs between brands. Some bikes come in one size; others offer several frame lengths. Compare reach, top tube, standover and the manufacturer’s fitting advice. A bar or stem change can refine a suitable fit, but it cannot turn every frame into the right size.
Look beyond the wheel diameter
Compare the fork, wheels, brakes and drivetrain with the riding you have in mind. Many dirt jump bikes are single-speed hardtails, but the category can include different wheel sizes and suspension layouts. Use the specification of the individual bike.
Assembly and regular checks
Follow the supplied assembly instructions and have a bicycle workshop check the bike before riding if you cannot complete the checks yourself. Follow the model’s maintenance and warranty terms. Stop riding if you find play, damage or a braking problem. Our introduction to dirt jumping explains the discipline.
Initial service before the first ride
RMDBike requires an initial service by a professional bicycle workshop before the first ride. Have the workshop complete or check the assembly and confirm that the bike is ready to ride. The workshop sets the service price. Keep confirmation of the work and follow the instructions and warranty documents supplied with your bike. This requirement does not limit your statutory consumer rights.
Before you order, read our Important Information Before Buying and Using a Bike for guidance on assembly, the initial service, suspension and brake maintenance, and riding safety.
Questions about MTB Dirt Jump Bikes
Are dirt jump bikes one size fits all?
No. Some models are sold in one frame length, while others offer several sizes. Compare the manufacturer’s fit guide and geometry, particularly reach, rather than assuming every 26-inch dirt jumper fits the same rider. Your preferred balance of manoeuvrability and stability also affects the choice.
Can a dirt jump bike also be my everyday commuter?
A dirt jumper is designed around jumps, pump tracks and skatepark riding. Its compact geometry, low saddle position and often single-speed drivetrain can make longer seated rides less practical. If everyday travel matters as much as tricks, compare a suitable all-round bike and check the manufacturer’s permitted use.
Do I need gears on a dirt jump bike?
For jump lines and pump tracks, a single-speed setup keeps the drivetrain simple. It gives you one gear ratio, so climbing or travelling between spots can be harder. If you want gears, choose a bike or frame designed to accept them; a derailleur cannot simply be added to every dirt jumper.
Can I fit a longer-travel fork to a dirt jump bike?
Check the frame’s approved fork range before changing anything. Travel, axle-to-crown length, wheel size, axle standard and intended use all need to match. A fork designed for ordinary trail riding is not automatically suitable for dirt jumping, even if it physically fits the frame.
