An HIC clamp connects an oversized scooter handlebar to the fork in a Hidden Internal Compression system. It keeps the bar stable and maintains proper compression tension.
HIC clamps fit oversized 34.9 mm steel bars. They are not compatible with standard 31.8 mm bars unless you use a proper shim adapter.
No. HIC clamps are designed only for the Hidden Internal Compression system. For SCS or IHC you need clamps made specifically for those standards.
Inspect the bolts and threads every few weeks of heavy riding. Replace the clamp if you notice cracks, stripped bolts or any play in the handlebar.
